I bought my very first brass locomotive: An Alco Models NYC B-11L 0-6-0 switcher (ca. 1977).
There is very little overall tarnish and the detailing is very nice. I haven't had a chance to run it yet but, according to the seller, it operates smoothly. So far the only repair I can find is a minor one: A detached pipe on a pressure cylinder.
The plan is to eventually convert it to DCC, add front & rear headlights then paint and detail it. It will make a fine addition to my NYC roster and a handsome compliment to my USRA 0-8-0 switcher.
